Those of you who know me know I don't do gardening. I guess I just don’t have any interest.
My in-laws babysit Olivia once a week and my father-in-law loves gardening. So, he planted a tomato plant in our backyard a couple of weeks ago. In fact, I forgot about it and haven’t even watered or seen the plant. I’m guessing that when he comes once a week, he tends to the plant.
Anyway, a few days ago, he asked me, “are you going to pick the tomatoes” I was like “Huh….what? Oh, I haven’t even seen the plant”. So, last Sunday, I finally went to take a look at the plant and wow….there are bunches and bunches of grape tomatoes and some are already ripe.
I picked about 10 bright red tomatoes, washed them and popped them into my mouth. YUM! It is more delicious than store bought tomatoes. It is also a very nice feeling to eat produce from your own backyard.
So, when I have time, maybe I will take on the challenge of planting produce in my backyard, like when Olivia goes to college. LOL

I want to try grow some cherry tomatoes in my backyard too. Your cherry tomatoes definitely looks great. Thanks for the idea!
Wow, that's great. I never liked gardening but this year DH planted some tomatoes, corn, squash, water melon, cantaloupe, morning glory and even gladiola. I am very happy at the way the garden is turning out. We have butterflies, and even a humming bird showed up the other day!
Next year, I'll be sure to start the garden early. Ours only got started in June, so to see gladiolas this of the year is very pleasing!
I enjoy your blog. I bet tomatos tested so good. I love home grown tomatos, I like to eat mine with cottage cheese. My husband is a green thumb. So I'm very lucky to have a few types of asian vegetable in our garden. Keep up your good work!

Organic "wild" tomatoes must be good for your health. Enjoy and prepare my share of a tomato dish, OK?
