I have been living in the US for almost 6 years and so far, the roaches I have seen were the teeny tiny ones. Compared to the giant cockroaches in Malaysia, the ones here are nothing. I’m deathly afraid of cockroaches but I could handle the tiny ones here. I’m not sure why they are smaller here, maybe because of the weather in the Northeast???
Anyway, I had the pleasure of visiting the Consulate General of Malaysia one day this week to renew my passport. After I had my thumb print taken, I went into the restroom to wash my hands. Before I could find the switch to turn on the lights, I saw this HUGE cockroach on the wall across from where I was standing.

Needless to say, I ran helter-skelter out of there. When I told hubby about it later, he said that someone at the Consulate must have brought the cockroach from Malaysia to get a taste of home. LOL

Hooi Imm,
I have seen the same BIG roaches here in USA. My sister also afraid of roaches but I'm more afraid of frogs and lizards than anything else.
Funny but truth ya.. We are 100 times bigger than these small little insects/animals, but we are so afraid of them.
hahaha....yeah, the roach may have creeped into his luggage! eww....
By the way, though US..or NY is infested with rats! When I was there one of them actually invaded my colleague's suitcase and she spent the whole day having to disinfect all her clothes and the whole bag!
Prefer to deal with roaches than rats. At least I can roll a newspaper and swap them upside down! Then get hubby to do the cleaning! hahaha....
