Now that Olivia is mobile, we have put up a gate on top of the stairs leading to the lower level. However, we still need a solution for her ‘playroom’. Well, it’s not exactly a playroom, it’s just a part of the office where all her toys are.
I need to put her down somewhere enclosed so that I can get ready for work in the morning in peace, and also to prevent her from crawling to the office section where all the electrical wires are. You must be wondering, what about the crib? Well, if she’s not tired/sleepy, she would whine and cry if put in her crib.
So, we bought this Superyard, which is an enclosed play pen about 18.5 square feet in size.
For now, it works but I don’t like the restrictive nature of the yard…well, I guess that’s the whole point of an enclosed play pen. I used to be able to sit down with her to play but now, if I get into the play yard, it feels small.
Poor baby, whenever she pulls to stand using the rails, I felt like she’s in jail.
:-( Anyway, for the time being, this is it until we can think of another solution.

Hello Hooi Imm, spotted your callsign over at Cat Cat and kaypoh over.
Aiyoh, kesian the baby masuk 'jail' everyday, ha ha. But I guess this way more safer, as at this age they can crawl and disappear very fast.
Ohh, you in New York, huh?
Wow, so many Malaysian exiles overseas judging from the blogs I visit.
Me too, in Canada.
Your baby looks so cute, Hooi Imm.
You have a nice day, UL.
Buy more and more gates and make her area bigger...than maybe her "jail" won't be too much of a jail! hehehe...
Hooi Imm,
Try to baby-proof her room or any one of the bedroom, then put a gate at the door. That way, you don't need a big area in your living room to put up all those gates. Leceh sangat to put it up and break it down everyday.
With the baby-proof room, just put up one gate and you are good to go.
Or, alternatively, you can pop her on the high-chair, turn on the tv while you get yourself ready. That way, she won't feel so bored to be in the enclosed play area everyday.
u.lee, thanks for stopping by. Are you in Quebec? :-)
I used that for my gal too! It came in very useful during christmas 'cos we used that to enclose the Christmas tree!!hehe...
Wahhh, nice sized jail! I had two crawling kids on my hands, so I fenced off the living room area. Big enough for the two of them. When they could walk, I only left the fence to the kitchen, and closed all doors except the one to their room.
